BNP Paribas Bank, Thane
A Seamless Dialogue Between Landscape and Workplace
Positioned on the 11th and 12th floors of the Hiranandani Commercial Tower in Thane, the BNP Paribas office is shaped by its rich context: a riverside setting and an expansive glazed façade with panoramic views. Together, these elements invite the surrounding landscape, softening the boundary between inside and outside and making it integral to the workspace experience.
The plan is anchored by a circular, collaborative core, from which workspaces radiate outward in meandering, non-linear forms. Collaboration takes centre stage within the office, with dedicated zones claiming a substantial twenty-five to thirty per cent of the overall footprint. A spacious cafeteria integrated with lush green corners effortlessly morphs into a town hall when the occasion calls. Overlooking it all, the boardroom sits beside the terrace, perfectly suited for an evening client dinner or a morning strategy session.
All primary workstations are distributed along the building perimeter, giving every desk access to natural light and reducing the overall energy load. The material palette takes its cues from the view. Developed by BNP’s in-house team, they are incorporated in a restrained manner across the workspace. Carpets in muted blues and greens line the floor, evoking the texture of moss and water. Exposed ceilings, raw cement finishes, and terracotta tones in the cabin areas maintain the same tonality throughout. The deliberate absence of a false ceiling and the muted colour keep the space closer to landscape than to a conventional corporate environment.
With a LEED Gold certification, the project reflects a strong commitment to sustainability through reduced energy dependence enabled by maximised natural light and a conscious selection of materials across every touchpoint. With cabins and key spaces planned along the periphery to optimise daylight, the workplace is designed for long-term environmental performance and efficiency.
